Gershwin & Bizet!

FRIDAY, JUNE 8th, 2018
Warwick Village Railroad Green, Warwick, NY
7:00 PM

As part of the Village of Warwick Summer Concert Series, the New York Wind Symphony will play their annual outdoor concert in the charming setting of the Railroad Green.
Come to the beautiful Village of Warwick to hear some of the most recognizable and enchanting opera music ever composed. George Gershwin’s – Selections from Porgy and Bess has some of the most endearing and recognizable songs in the Opera genre. Some of the songs in the opera, such as Summertime, became popular and frequently recorded songs.

Bizet died suddenly after the 33rd performance pf Carmen, unaware that the work would achieve international acclaim within the following ten years. Carmen has since become one of the most popular and frequently performed operas in the classical canon. The music of Carmen has since been widely acclaimed for brilliance of melody, harmony, atmosphere, and orchestration, and for the skill with which Bizet musically represented the emotions and suffering of his characters.
